A Generous Soul

Being generous and kindhearted are two traits which are immensely valuable, but seem to be valued less and seen as being weak in our current society.  It is always a shame when people think lending a helping hand is a sign of weakness.  It is important to help those around us and lend them our aid in their times of need.  There may one day come a time when we ourselves are in need of aid and that is when those we have helped will be there to lend us a hand.  A society or group is only as strong as its weakest members.

Fortunately, there are still plenty of people who understand and see the value and strength of being kindhearted and generous.  One person who has done lots of work to help those around him is Emre Umar.  Emre Umar donated money in 2012 to the NYR Saratoga Walk MS, which is just one of the many charitable acts he has participated in throughout the years.  The proceeds of the event will help people living in the Saratoga area with MS.  It will also be used to help fund research for discovering the cause, finding a treatment and how to manage MS better.  This is a great display of helping those who have to face extra challenges on a regular basis.

Emre Umar’s company has been generous, too, in helping those who have lost loved ones unexpectedly.  When Phil Thibault was unexpectedly taken from his family the company donated money to the Thibault Family Trust.  The donation helped the family after this unfortunate event.  This displays a true kindness and caring for those in the community surrounding Emre Umar and it’s important that these tales of helping don’t go unnoticed.

We have an unfortunate amount of vitriol in the world, and by promoting and discussing the good deeds which are happening on a regular basis, we can remind people of the good that still exists.  So let’s not forget that a society which helps those who are down on their luck and suffering misfortunes will be a more wholesome, productive and happy society.
